Christmas Newsletter 2017

Counselling: This year we have had 123 new referrals to the end of the first week of December. Once again, thanks go to our counsellors; Amanda, Annabel, Bebe, Beckie, Carole, Christine, Emma, Jane, Sue and Sarah, Greg and Nigel, and our supervisors; Sarah and Brian who have continued to give their time and skills. Greg has decided to retire after working with us for several years. We thank him for all his hard work with clients and wish him well for the future. Helen has returned to the island after training and working in the UK. She has just joined us and we welcome her. Our Diploma trainees have been seeing clients since February, which has made a big difference to our waiting list and our thanks go to them as well; Anne, John, Kate, Mandy and Tracey.

Training courses: We are planning to start a Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies in April 2018, which will be a 12 day course run in mainly 2 day modules over 7 months. We will also be looking at how we can run another Level 2. Please check our website for further information as it becomes available or email us at The second year of the Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, started in September and will finish in June. It is a 2-year course with 420 hours of tutor contact time and 120 credits towards entry on to a degree course. All the courses are awarded by CPCAB (Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body). However, Philippi Guernsey continue to look for those with a faith background, who might volunteer for us, if they are interested in this type of training and work.
