COVID-19: At present, we do not know the impact that this will have on the service. We will be following all the professional advice as it becomes available, with the aim of keeping clients, trainees and counsellors safe.
Our AGM has been postponed from Tuesday 28th April and we will circulate a new date in due course.
Counselling: Having had 134 referrals in 2019, we have already had just over 30 new referrals to the middle of March. Our thanks go to our counsellors; Amanda, Bebe, Christine, Emma, Helen, Mandy, Sue, Tracey and Sarah, John and Nigel, and our in-house supervisors; Sarah and Brian, who all continue to give their time and skills. It has been necessary to widen our selection of supervisors to cover the increasing workload and our diploma trainees. Generally, 2019 was another challenging year for us, which limited the number of counselling hours we were able to offer, amounting to 450. Therefore, we continue to have a waiting list for counselling.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD): The Enneagram (Narrative Tradition) is planned for October 16th & 17th (Friday & Saturday), being held at La Villette Hotel, St Martin. The Early Bird cost until 31st May is £85, including tea & coffee. Please email us for more details and to book.
Training courses: all our Level 2 students were successful, so we congratulate them. Great news! Our Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling had just one more training session to complete its first year and the course has been suspended for the time being. Our diploma trainees are Ashley, Becky, Grace, Kate, Lucy, Susanna, Taru and Teresa. Hayley is on placement with us doing a Degree course in the UK. They are all working very hard.
A Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies was planned to start in May, providing there were enough students. This is the next step towards entry on to the Diploma course. However, this has definitely been postponed. Hopefully, courses can be resumed in the Autumn.
