Summer Newsletter 2020

Counselling:  We had had 34 new referrals before lockdown and since we resumed face to face counselling, we are now up to 52. Our thanks go to our counsellors; Amanda, Christine, Emma, Helen, Mandy, Nigel, Sue, Tracey and Sarah, and our in-house supervisors; Sarah and Brian, who all continue to give their time and skills. Bebe and John are busy with their own occupations and practices and we thank them for their help in the past. We are pleased to welcome Rebecca, who has just joined us. She has come back to Guernsey after a few years of living and training in the UK.

Our AGM was postponed and the new date is Tuesday 11th August at 6pm at Les Cotils. Please come and then join us for a meal afterwards….. pre-booking required.

Training courses: Our Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling will hopefully continue via Zoom until border control allows safe visiting for the trainers to come over again. Our diploma trainees are Ashley, Becky, Grace, Kate, Lucy, Susanna, Taru and Teresa. Hayley is on placement with us doing a Degree course in the UK. They all continue to work hard.

A Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies is planned to start in September, providing there are enough students. This is the next step towards entry on to the Diploma course.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD): The Enneagram (Narrative Tradition) was planned for October 16th & 17th. It is being postponed until next year, possibly even a whole year. Date to be confirmed in due course.
